Learn to Lead

Ready to climb and belay with confidence? Our 2-day 4-hour "Learn to Lead" class is designed to teach you the essential skills to lead climb and belay.

In this comprehensive class, our expert instructors will guide you through the fundamentals of lead climbing, ensuring you gain confidence in both your climbing abilities and belaying technique. By the end of the session, you'll be ready to tackle lead climbs with confidence.

Once you have finished the course, take a day or two to practice and let all the new information sink in - then come back and take your belay test and get belay certified.

*All participants must be 16 years or older to participate in this class.

    Rental gear (shoes, harness, chalk) and rental belay device included in price.

    • A water bottle

    • Your own climbing gear, if you have it. Necessary gear includes: climbing shoes, climbing harness, and an assisted-braking belay device.

    • Oftentimes, climbers prefer to wear long pants when wearing a harness. Though, it’s completely up to you and what makes you comfortable!

  • You must have passed a top-rope test and hold an active certification at Greater Heights prior to participating in the Learn to Lead Class
