Whether your climber is just getting started or aiming to compete at a high level, we offer a program to support their journey. Beginner Team

Our Beginner Team is a great way to get started in the sport through structured practice in a supportive, low-pressure environment. Open to climbers between the ages of 8-18, this program focuses on building foundational skills, developing movement, and having fun through games and climbing-based activities.

Practices are held once per week for two hours. While climbers train together, we may group participants by age or experience as needed to ensure everyone feels comfortable and engaged.

$149/month – includes a full Greater Heights membership and rental equipment.

Assessment Required
Participation in the Beginner Team requires a coach assessment to ensure athletes are placed in the appropriate environment for the success of everyone involved.

Intermediate Team

Open to athletes between the ages of 8-18. The Intermediate Team is ideal for climbers who want to build on their foundational skills and begin training with more structure and consistency. Whether you're moving up from the Beginner Team or have prior climbing experience, this program supports those interested in progressing and exploring climbing more seriously.

Practices are held twice per week for two hours and focus on technique development, strength, and movement—within a fun and supportive team environment. Participants may be grouped by age or ability to ensure a productive and positive experience for everyone.

$249/month – includes a full Greater Heights membership and rental equipment.

Training includes structured, coach-led sessions complemented by individualized plans for continued development outside of practice. This team offers a comprehensive, focused environment that supports long-term growth—both as a climber and an athlete.

FAQ - Advanced/Comp Team

  • We’re offering two competitive practice schedules to give athletes and their families flexibility based on their goals and availability. While we believe that three three-hour practices per week is ideal for athletes to reach their full potential—with time for thorough warm-ups, stretching, technical drills, and focused on-wall training—we understand that this level of commitment may not be right for everyone.

For climbers who are newer to training for climbing or more comfortable practicing independently, we also offer a twice-weekly option. These athletes will attend the same two practices each week and will receive structured guidance from coaches to support their individual practice outside of team sessions.

  • Bouldering qualifiers run October through December. Regionals occur in January and Divisionals occur in February. Lead/Top Rope qualifications occur March through April. Regionals are in May and Divisionals are in early June. Nationals for both disciplines occur in late June/early July.

  • Youth climbing competitions, primarily sanctioned by USA Climbing, are held at various gyms throughout the season. The competition format can vary by event, and location. More information can be found here.

Competitions are categorized by age and gender. Events typically last a half to full day, including check-in, warm-up, climbing sessions, and awards. Families should be prepared for travel, bring necessary gear, snacks, and be ready for a dynamic schedule.

  • Yes, a structured training program will be developed, but only after we’ve had the opportunity to get to know each athlete. Following tryouts and initial assessments, our coaches will evaluate individual strengths, weaknesses, goals, and experience levels to build personalized training plans that meet each climber’s specific needs.

We believe effective training starts with understanding the athlete. That’s why no one-size-fits-all program is created in advance. Each climber’s development is guided by thoughtful, tailored coaching based on their unique profile.

  • We maintain intentionally low climber-to-coach ratios across all levels of our youth climbing programs. This ensures that every athlete receives individualized attention, timely feedback, and consistent support throughout their training.

Smaller group sizes allow coaches to better understand each climber’s unique strengths, challenges, and goals—leading to more effective development and a stronger sense of connection within the team.

Whether your climber is new to the sport or working toward advanced goals, they’ll benefit from a focused coaching environment that prioritizes quality over quantity.

  • No. Competitions are not required. The Advanced/Competitive Team is designed for advanced athletes who are committed to improving their climbing, whether or not they choose to compete. This program supports both competitive and non-competitive climbers training at a high level.
